Aluminium Swing Doors
Robust side-hung aluminium swing doors engineered for high-footfall commercial entrances — heavy-duty hydraulic closers, machined steel hinges, access control integration, and emergency egress compliance.
The Primary Gateway to Your Premises — Hardware is Everything
The aluminium swing door is the most-used element in any commercial building. A retail shopfront door opens and closes hundreds of times per day under continuous patron traffic. An office entrance endures daily pushing, pulling, and occasional impact. A restaurant or F&B outlet door is opened and closed with customers' hands full of bags, children in tow, and in the rush of a busy service period. This relentless daily cycling is what separates a properly engineered commercial swing door from a residential door installed in a commercial setting — and the failure modes are not subtle. Hinges sag, frames drop, and glass panels crack under the stress of a poorly specified door.
JWE has installed swing doors for KFC, Pizza Hut, FamilyMart, Texas Chicken, and a wide range of retail and corporate tenants across Malaysia as their appointed engineering provider. The critical differentiator in commercial swing door performance is hardware selection and calibration — specifically the hydraulic closer mechanism. A floor spring or overhead closer must be rated precisely to the weight of the door panel and calibrated for the correct closing speed and back-check resistance. We also integrate electronic access control hardware — magnetic locks, electric drop bolts, and card reader mounting — into the door frame during fabrication, not as an afterthought retrofit.
Calibrated Hydraulic Closers
Floor springs and overhead closers are rated and calibrated to the exact weight of your door panel. Correct calibration prevents dangerous slamming, reduces hinge stress, and eliminates the floor scraping that signals an under-specified closer.
Access Control Integration
Magnetic locks, electric drop bolts, and card reader mounting positions are incorporated during fabrication. A clean integrated installation is structurally superior and visually neater than a retrofit, and we coordinate with your access control contractor on wiring positions.
Machined Steel Hinges
Commercial-grade machined steel butt hinges carry the full dead weight of the door panel without sagging. We size hinge count and grade to door weight — a heavy full-height panel requires more hinges rated to a higher capacity than a standard residential door spec.
Appointed Provider
Trusted by Malaysia's Leading F&B Chains
JWE is an appointed engineering provider for KFC, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Texas Chicken, FamilyMart, and Coffee Bean. Commercial swing door installations at these high-footfall outlets are executed to brand specifications and franchise standards across multiple locations simultaneously.

Frequently Asked Questions
My swing door drags on the floor — can it be fixed without replacement?
Floor dragging is caused by either hinge sag (the hinges have deformed under the door's weight over time) or frame settlement (the frame has moved slightly relative to the structural opening). In many cases, hinge replacement and frame realignment correct the problem without replacing the entire door. We assess on site and give an honest recommendation — rectification is always preferred over replacement when the frame and glass are structurally sound.
What is the difference between a floor spring and an overhead closer?
A floor spring is a concealed hydraulic mechanism set into a box in the floor slab — it is the cleaner aesthetic option and is required for frameless glass swing doors. An overhead closer is a surface-mounted or concealed unit mounted to the door and frame at the top — it is easier to service and adjust, and is commonly used for aluminium-framed swing doors where concealment is less critical. For heavy commercial doors, floor springs offer superior durability and a lower centre of resistance. We recommend the appropriate type based on your door weight, aesthetics, and maintenance access.
Can you install swing doors outside of business hours to avoid disrupting operations?
Yes. Night-time and weekend installations are standard practice for our F&B and retail clients, where daytime operation cannot be disrupted. We coordinate with your operations team on the access window and ensure the premises are secure and operational before we leave site. This service is built into our commercial project management — not an exceptional request.
