Glass Partitions
Frameless and framed glass partition systems for offices, F&B interiors, and commercial spaces — clear and frosted glass, acoustic double-glazed boardroom walls, integrated doors, and smart switchable privacy glass.
Light Where Drywall Creates Darkness
Traditional drywall partitions create visually enclosed spaces that block natural light from penetrating deep into a floor plate. In commercial offices, this means interior meeting rooms that rely entirely on artificial lighting. In F&B environments, drywall limits sightlines — diners and operators cannot see across the space, which undermines the atmosphere and operational control that hospitality design depends on. Glass partitions resolve both problems: they zone and define areas while allowing light and visual connection to flow through the space. The floor plate feels larger, ambient light is better, and the space communicates the openness that clients, guests, and employees respond to positively.
JWE installs glass partition systems across the full range from simple single-glazed frameless dividers to acoustic-rated double-glazed boardroom systems. Our frameless systems use ultra-slim perimeter aluminium U-tracks recessed into the floor and ceiling, with vertical glass-to-glass joints sealed with clear structural silicone for a nearly invisible installation. For boardrooms requiring acoustic privacy, we install double-glazed partition systems with significant sound transmission reduction. Integrated doors — swing or sliding, aluminium-framed or frameless glass — are incorporated during design, not retrofitted after. We also supply and install switchable privacy glass (PDLC) that switches from clear to opaque with a switch, allowing a meeting room to transform between open-plan and fully private operation.
Frameless U-Track System
Ultra-slim aluminium floor and ceiling tracks recessed flush create a nearly invisible partition frame. Vertical glass joints sealed with clear structural silicone — the result is a glass wall that appears to float, maintaining the visual openness that is the whole point of a glass partition.
Acoustic Double-Glazed Systems
For boardrooms and private offices requiring confidentiality, we install double-glazed partition systems with an air gap between two glass leaves. Acoustic performance is determined by glass thickness, gap width, and the sealing quality of the perimeter track — we specify and install to your required Rw rating.
Smart Switchable Glass
PDLC and electrochromic switchable glass panels transition from clear to opaque privacy mode on demand. We supply and install switchable glass as a drop-in replacement for standard glass in partition systems, coordinating the electrical connection with your fitout contractor.
Appointed F&B Provider
Commercial Installation Experience
JWE is the appointed engineering provider for KFC, Pizza Hut, FamilyMart, Texas Chicken, and Coffee Bean across Malaysia. Glass partition and divider installations in F&B environments require off-hours work, franchise specification compliance, and rapid turnaround — all standard to our commercial project delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
What glass thickness is used for office glass partitions?
Standard single-glazed office partitions use 10mm or 12mm tempered glass. The choice depends on ceiling height — taller panels require thicker glass to resist lateral flexing under impact or air pressure differential. Double-glazed acoustic systems typically use two leaves of 6mm tempered glass with a 50–100mm air cavity. We specify glass thickness based on the panel dimensions and application, not a one-size-fits-all rule.
Can glass partitions be relocated if the office layout changes?
Frameless glass partition systems using U-track channels can be disassembled and reinstalled in a new configuration. The glass panels are removed, the floor and ceiling tracks are unbolted, and the system is rebuilt at the new location. Standard tempered glass panels cannot be re-cut — if the new layout requires different panel sizes, new glass must be fabricated. For offices with frequent layout changes, demountable partition systems designed specifically for repeated reconfiguration are the better investment, and we can advise on appropriate products.
How is frosted glass used in partitions?
Frosted glass in partitions is typically used in bands — a frosted section at mid-height for visual privacy at seated level while the upper and lower sections remain clear for light transmission. Full-height frosted glass provides complete visual privacy while still transmitting diffused light. The frosting can be applied as an acid-etched surface treatment (permanent) or as a vinyl film (removable). We also supply glass with custom fritting or pattern printing for branded or design-specific applications.
