Sleek, Space-Saving Operation for Commercial & Residential Spaces

Aluminium Sliding Doors

Large-format sliding door systems built with commercial-grade aluminium extrusions — multi-panel stacking configurations, interlock weather sealing, heavy-duty rollers, and multi-point locking for balconies, shopfronts, and office partitions.

The Standard for Modern Facades — Built Properly

Aluminium sliding doors are the most common choice for balconies, patios, shopfront facades, and office partition systems because they require zero swing clearance and can open an entire wall aperture to create a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. The problem is that the Malaysian market is flooded with entry-level residential-grade sliding systems: thin extrusions that flex and derail, lightweight rollers that bind under heavy glass, and weatherstrip seals that fail within a few monsoon seasons. A poorly specified sliding door becomes a chronic operational and waterproofing problem that is expensive to maintain and impossible to fix without full replacement.

JWE fabricates aluminium sliding doors from commercial-grade extrusions with the structural mass to resist the bending forces that cause cheap frames to derail. Our configurations range from standard 2-panel systems for residential balconies through to massive multi-track wall-pocket stacking systems that conceal entirely into the wall cavity. All systems use heavy-duty nylon rollers rated for thick acoustic laminated or Low-E glass, and deep interlocking stile profiles with high-density weatherstrip that maintain weather performance under driving rain — the standard Malaysian monsoon test that most sliding door systems fail.

Commercial Gauge Extrusions

Heavier-section frames resist the flexing and derailment that plagues residential-grade sliding doors under heavy glass loads. Our extrusions are specified for commercial durability, not minimum material cost.

Interlock Sealing System

Deep interlocking stile profiles with high-density weatherstrip maintain a continuous seal under monsoon rain conditions. The seal geometry prevents wind-driven rain from tracking inward through the meeting stile.

Multi-Point Locking

Multi-point hook-bolt locking systems engage simultaneously at top, centre, and bottom of the door panel, providing security and eliminating panel rattle under wind load — a single-point lock cannot achieve either benefit.

In-House Fabrication

Custom Sizes, Faster Lead Times

JWE fabricates all sliding door frames at our own factory. Non-standard sizes — narrow pockets, oversized panels, irregular apertures — are handled in-house without the delays and markups of ordering from an external fabricator. Custom sizing adds no extraordinary lead time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my existing sliding door drag or derail?

Derailing and drag are most commonly caused by undersized rollers that have deformed under the weight of the glass panel, or a frame that has flexed over time due to insufficient section size. Residential-grade rollers are typically rated for 6mm single glass; fitting 10mm or 12mm laminated glass overloads them. In some cases, roller replacement extends the door's life. In others, the frame itself has distorted and replacement is the only reliable fix. We assess on site and advise honestly which solution is appropriate.

Can you install sliding doors that stack completely into a wall pocket?

Yes — wall-pocket stacking systems require a pocket cavity built into the wall during construction or renovation. If the wall cavity exists or can be created, we design and fabricate the door system to slide fully into it, creating an unobstructed opening. This is a more complex installation requiring coordination with structural and wet works contractors, and we manage that scope as part of our service for renovation projects.

What glass thickness is suitable for a sliding door?

For residential balcony applications, 8mm or 10mm tempered glass is standard. For shopfronts or commercial applications where security and acoustic performance matter, 10mm or 12mm laminated glass is recommended. For high-rise or wind-exposed locations, we calculate the glass specification based on the wind load and panel size — thicker glass may be structurally required, not just a preference. We include a glass specification recommendation with every quotation.
