Transforming Corporate Workspaces — Glass, Aluminium & Fitout

Office Renovation

Full-scope office renovation for corporate tenancies and owner-occupied premises — acoustic glass partitions, frameless glass doors, aluminium windows and curtain wall integration, ceiling and floor works, and complete fitout coordination. Reference: KLCC Lot 91 (40-floor office fit-out).

Office Renovation Where Aluminium and Glass Are the Defining Elements

The modern corporate office has glass and aluminium at its core. Open-plan floor plates are divided by glass partition walls that allow natural light to penetrate deep into the floor without closing spaces off from each other. Meeting rooms and boardrooms are defined by acoustic-rated double-glazed walls that provide visual connection to the floor plate while delivering the speech privacy that confidential discussions require. The reception and lobby entrance use frameless glass doors, concealed floor springs, and quality hardware to make an immediate statement about the organisation operating behind them. And across all of this, the aluminium window and curtain wall system frames the views and controls the thermal environment that determines whether the office is comfortable to work in.

JWE completed the glass and aluminium works at KLCC Lot 91 across 40 floors — one of the most extensive single-project office glass fit-outs in Malaysia. That project involved smart mirror walls, glass partition systems, frameless glass doors, and aluminium works coordinated across an occupied high-rise building with active construction on multiple floors simultaneously. Our office renovation scope covers the full glass and aluminium package — glass partition systems (frameless or framed, single or double-glazed), frameless glass doors with quality hardware, aluminium window replacement or upgrade, and architectural mirror installations — as well as full renovation works including ceiling systems, floor finishes, and M&E coordination. We work from your ID consultant's drawings or develop the design with you from scratch.

Acoustic Glass Partitions

Double-glazed partition systems with air gaps sized to the required Rw acoustic rating. Boardrooms require confidentiality — we specify and install acoustic systems that deliver meaningful speech privacy, not just the appearance of separation. Integrated frameless glass doors with acoustic drop seals are designed as part of the partition system, not added as an afterthought.

Occupied-Building Coordination

Office renovations in occupied buildings require noisy trades to be scheduled outside business hours, dust containment at the construction perimeter, and daily clean-up so that adjacent occupied areas remain presentable. JWE has experience managing renovation programmes in occupied high-rise offices where multiple floors are being refurbished simultaneously — as demonstrated at KLCC Lot 91.

Full-Scope Fitout Delivery

Beyond glass and aluminium, JWE delivers complete office fitout — ceiling systems (suspended and feature ceilings), floor finishes (raised access floor, carpet, vinyl, timber), joinery (reception counters, storage), and M&E coordination. A single contractor managing the full scope eliminates the coordination gaps between trades that cause delays and defects.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does an office renovation take?

An office renovation of 2,000–5,000 sq ft typically takes 6–10 weeks from site handover, depending on the scope of structural changes, the complexity of the partition layout, and the ceiling and flooring system specified. Simple refurbishments (new partitions, new ceiling tiles, new flooring, new glass doors) in a shell space are faster than renovations that involve hacking existing walls, new M&E runs, and significant structural changes. We provide a detailed programme at quotation stage so programme expectations are aligned before work begins.

Can the office remain operational during renovation?

For renovations of an entire floor, the floor must be vacated during the main works. For partial renovations (refurbishing one zone while the rest of the floor remains operational), we phase the works and erect hoarding to contain noise and dust. Noisy trades are scheduled outside business hours. This phased approach takes longer but is sometimes necessary when the business cannot vacate the entire space. We discuss the phasing approach and programme implications at the planning stage so the right decision is made for your operation.

Do I need an ID consultant, or can JWE design the layout?

JWE can work from your existing interior designer's or architect's drawings, or we can develop the space plan with you directly for smaller renovation projects where engaging a separate ID consultant is not warranted. For projects where the partition layout, glass specification, and finish palette need to be coordinated as a cohesive design, we provide design development as part of the renovation scope. For larger or more complex projects, we recommend engaging an ID consultant and working with them to ensure the detailed design reflects what is buildable within your budget and programme.
